For the vast majority of applications the catalytic converters are the only option. All of our Pfadt Tri-Y header products are intended for off-road use only, but for those looking for that last extra bit of HP a non-catted mid-pipe is available. The cats will be welded directly into the mid-pipe instead of welded and bolted to a flange, we chose to do this because it eliminates one more potential spot for leaks and misalignment. Our kits have the option of adding 2 or 4 Oxygen Sensor Extenders depending on if you have a mid-pipe with or without catalytic converters.

 

X-Crossover Design The crossover portion of the mid-pipe is important because it provides not only pressure and flow equalization between the left and right header banks, but also adds one more change in cross sectional area to help with scavenging. Just like the position of our Tri-Y collectors, the position of the X must be tuned to the proper length. We tried several different X pipe positions before settling on the final one. Our dyno tuning proved that where we positioned our X was making the most power over other positions with this particular header design. The differences weren’t massive, but enough to prove that position 2 was the clear winner in midrange torque without much effect on top end power. Position 2 is the position we decided to run with!

There are a lot of reasons to take a look at our Pfadt Power Products C6 Corvette Tri-Y Headers. But the BIGGEST reason is plain and simple: more power. The 1.75/2″ Tri-Y design creates a much more usable power/torque curve where you need it most; at the mid RPM range. Whats even better, is there are NO performance losses on the top-end either. A Tri-Y design will either have identical peak power output OR beat the numbers of a standard 4-into-1 design. Check out the example dyno graphs showing exactly what we mean when we say more power.

Because we’ve eliminated many potential points of misalignment getting your muffler tips properly lined up is incredibly simple with our headers. The only point of adjustment you need is at the over axle, this will mean it takes less time to get your Corvette setup perfectly again after a header install. Alternatively you could be trying to loosen every single connection at every flange with a traditional exhaust to get your muffler tips perfectly aligned. The very simple Pfadt Mid Pipe helps make that process a whole lot easier!
